Crossout Overview

Crossout is a Post Apocalyptic, Mad Max style game developed by Gaijin Entertainment. Using scrap metal and spare part collected in the game you are able to build combat vehicles. Vehicle can range from small two wheeled speedsters to giant overpowered Leviathans. When you level you obtain more parts increasing the potential destructive power of your builds.

The game has a storyline that works but is simple and feels incomplete. The storyline is not a main focus of the game, and Its simply faction fighting for control.

This game is refreshing in the that you have a high amount of customization, with a well-designed combat system. The over all design feels well thought out and complete. Crossout is free to play and If you like PVP based game and love to blow thing up this is one you should try.

Crossout Review

Crossout Garage

The building aspect of the game takes place in the Garage. Allowing you to add Frames, Weapons, Hardware and Movement Part to your vehicle. Choose from varies type of movement parts including Wheels, tracks and hover engines. Hardware including Armor, Cloaking Devices, and Radar. Machine Guns, Rockets, Shot Guns, and Drones type Ranged Weapons. Attach Short range melee weapons such as Flame Throwers, Wheel Spike, Drills, and Saws. Add engines to give your combat vehicle faster top speeds. You also have the ability to paint each part a different color allowing you to complete you custom-builds. The Garage is a key part of the game that allows you to create unlimited combat vehicle designs.

Crossout Factions and Leveling

Factions are key to crafting in Crossout. The Faction system in crossout allows you to choose what type of gear you want to craft in the game. The engineer faction is the default faction that gives you access to common gear patterns. You can then choose form eight other faction with in the game, each with different crafting focuses. Leveling a selected faction gives you access to blueprints and higher crafting tiers. Choosing form Frames, Weapons, Hardware and Movement Part.

Crossout Crafting

To craft in Crossout you first need to unlock the pattern by leveling the faction containing the pattern. You then need to gather materials. You can do this one of two ways, completing missions or purchasing them from the market. Each pattern may also need lower tier parts to complete the item. Crafting can be a bit confusing for new players but after learning a few tricks it’s a *pretty* good system.

Crossout Market

The Market is Crossouts solution to an Auction House. The Market allows you to purchase from or Sell crafted items and materials to other players. Since faction leveling can be time-consuming this is a great way for obtaining items from other fractions. The Market is simple to use and straight forward.

The Shop

The shop is the in game storefront for microtransactions. You can buy premade combat vehicles, Premium Subscriptions, Season Passes, and Customization Items. We feel that the shop can be a bit confusing. There are 2 type of currency, Cross Crowns and Coins. Cross Crowns are cash purchases and are used to purchase Coins and everything except for market items. We feel that Eliminating Cross Crowns and sticking to cash buys would make it a bit more intuitive.

Crossout Exhibition

Exhibition allows you to post and share you creations. The Exhibition is simple to use for both posting and downloading blueprints. Downloading allows you to build vehicles from the blueprint, as long as you have all the part to create it. With the extensive customization, and build tools the Exhibition adds great deal to the replayability.

Crossout Challenges

Challenges are daily and weekly battle goals. The rewards for finishing dailies is usually scrap metal. The reward for finishing weeklies is usually Engineering Badges or Containers. Exchange Engineering Badges for part or resources, and Containers hold random parts, and build items. We think the way they implemented Challenges works very well.
